Characters/Ship: TWICE Nayeon/Jeongyeon Tags: member departure Permission to Remix: Yes - Jeongyeon hasn't told a soul yet. Not to management, not to the members. She doesn’t know how to bring it up, even if she knows that they all know. Of course they do, how could they not? But still, Jeongyeon doesn’t say the words aloud.
Most of them are still treating her like normal but Jihyo is being way too soft with her and it’s gross but Jeongyeon deals with that with a flick of her forehead and a beer placed into Jihyo’s waiting hand. Nayeon, on the other hand, is a woman on a mission, a mission to make sure she ignores Jeongyeon at every given opportunity.
"Nayeon," Jeongyeon tries again for the third time today.
"No." Nayeon gives her a withering look that makes Jeongyeon sigh.
“You can’t ignore me forever,”
Nayeon glares at her but doesn’t run away, like the previous two times. At this point, Jeongyeon takes what’s given, even if Nayeon is still glaring holes into her.
“You’re going to leave anyways, what do you need me for?”
Jeongyeon smiles despite the venom in Nayeon’s words.
“I need you to tell me you understand,” Jeongyeon says.
She looks back up into Jeongyeon’s eyes, opening her mouth and then closes it. Something in Nayeon's gaze shifts, and she bites her lip hard enough to bruise. Nayeon’s shoulders slump and the defeat in her face is all Jeongyeon can see.
“You’re acting like I’m going to die,” Jeongyeon rolls her eyes.
“You’re an idiot,” Nayeon sneers, she steps forward and buries her head into Jeongyeon’s shoulder.
“Your idiot, though,” Jeongyeon jokes, patting Nayeon’s head and winces when she feels a pinch at her side. “Hey! I’m fragile!” Jeongyeon can’t help the laughter that bubbles in her throat when she feels another pinch.
“Do you have to?” Nayeon lifts her head, hope pools in her eyes and it trickles into a plea.
“Yeah,” The soft glow of the setting sky is still bright enough for her to see the worry so clear on Nayeon’s face, “I do,”
Jeongyeon tries another smile, but all it does is make Nayeon fall back onto her shoulder.
“I don’t want to do this without you,” Nayeon says, her voice muffled and yet Jeongyeon hears it all the same.
Nayeon’s fingers are digging into Jeongyeon’s waist, pulling her impossibly closer. Jeongyeon lets her, carding her fingers through Nayeon’s hair, soothing the ache that won't go away.
“I know,”
It’s all Jeongyeon can offer Nayeon. Nayeon will do this without her, she knows it, they both do.
