Each prompt should be centered around words that have already been said.
Possibilities include a quote of any kind:
- Existing works (books, poetry, TV shows, movie scripts, video game scripts, song lyrics, articles)
- Speech (celebrity, netizen, anonymous)
- Anything else that fits!
Click here to view the fest rules.
RULES
- You are not required to have a Dreamwidth account to participate. There are no signups necessary. You may post anonymously if you want.
- There will be 3 rounds of this fest, and 1 round will be opened each week of the fest. Rounds will be left open for fills and comments, so there is no deadline for participating.
- Prompts do not have to be claimed before you write them, and they can be filled by more than one person.
- Once a round is open, you can continue submitting prompts for it until the end of the fest moderation period. (Ex: On February 17 after Round 3 opens, you’re still allowed to submit prompts to Round 1 and 2.)
- There is no minimum or maximum word count for fills. In the spirit of the fest, we encourage you to write shorter works, but any length is welcome and appreciated!
- Users are allowed to crosspost their fic on any other site, such as AO3. However, we ask that when possible, writers post the text of their fills as a reply to the prompt and include a link to an AO3 post if they choose to do so, instead of just linking to an AO3 post in their comment. This helps keep discussion in our community!
- Feel free to subscribe and join the comm to keep track of updates and view them on your reading page.

It’s late in the United States, but early in South Korea, and everything finally feels like it’s not spinning out on an icy road, like the world is no longer going to fall down on top of Sooyoung’s head and crush her skull into putty. All because of Ibuprofen and beautiful, healing words from the girl on her phone.
Ha Sooyoung was not supposed to have a solo career. Okay – as a backup dancer, maybe, but as a singer? An idol? That was never in the cards.
And yet here she is: two EPs released under just Yves, North American leg of a world tour, standing on stages alone (aside from her lovely dance crew!) night after night. Magazines write about her and fans scream her name – like before, only flipped upside down and inside out. Here she is on the other side, all the good and all the bad and all the unknowns sitting squarely on her shoulders.
“My Sooyoungie-unnie,” Jiwoo chirps softly. Her hair is draped over the creases in her pillowcase and her face is still puffy with sleep. The low, natural light of her room is washing her out on Sooyoung’s screen. She’s everything that Sooyoung did nothing to deserve. “I love you very much.”
That’s a plain statement of fact. Not a lot of people try to bring Sooyoung back to herself like this. Not a lot of people can, even if they do try. Sooyoung gulps and wipes her eyes with the back of her hand. “Thank you…”
“Oh? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It’s, just…I think I can do only this – only be who I am – because of your love. All of your love.” At this point, the whole general public agrees that Kim Jiwoo is sunshine. Even in her moments of darkness, which Sooyoung had glimpsed, she still had a bounce, a lightness to her. And it had been Sooyoung who was lucky enough to bask in it.
Who else could have loved her on a music video set making a little bit of their story big, in the isolation of the mysterious last subunit, throughout their fanservice matrimony?
Who else could still believe in her just as fervently after puppy-love had come and gone?
A cute sound between a sigh and a laugh, so synonymous with an old idea of home that Sooyoung’s chest breaks open a little and spills onto the overly soft hotel pillow she’s clinging to, and then Jiwoo is saying, “You know I had no choice in that – but, hey, it’s good. We’ve always been good. I’m happy.” She pauses. “I’d do it all again, even.” Sooyoung’s lips lift at the corners, a smile of unbelief. Jiwoo reads it immediately and puts on a little scowl. “Seriously, I mean it. I would.”
Sooyoung wishes she could return the sentiment, but she recoils at the thought of time travel. “I don’t know what I’d do without you,” she says, because that’s the truth. Jiwoo’s eyes shine at her like precious jewels until she looks away. Jiwoo’s head turns to the side, her phone still held up above her dutifully as she murmurs unnieeee like a crumpled white flag. Sooyoung’s cheeks are wet all over again.
They only stop making each other cry because Jiwoo has to wash up before going into the studio later and Sooyoung needs to sleep before catching her next flight.
