Prompts should be based on a visual medium that isn't text. For example, it could be a moment between the idols that you want to be expanded, it could be a scenario with other people, or a moodboard of aesthetics you'd like to match the fic.

RULES

- You are not required to have a Dreamwidth account to participate. There are no signups necessary. You may post anonymously if you want.
- There will be 3 rounds of this fest, and 1 round will be opened each week of the fest. Rounds will be left open for fills and comments, so there is no deadline for participating.
- Prompts do not have to be claimed before you write them, and they can be filled by more than one person.
- Once a round is open, you can continue submitting prompts for it until the end of the fest moderation period. (Ex: On February 17 after Round 3 opens, you’re still allowed to submit prompts to Round 1 and 2.)
- There is no minimum or maximum word count for fills. In the spirit of the fest, we encourage you to write shorter works, but any length is welcome and appreciated!
- Users are allowed to crosspost their fic on any other site, such as AO3. However, we ask that when possible, writers post the text of their fills as a reply to the prompt and include a link to an AO3 post if they choose to do so, instead of just linking to an AO3 post in their comment. This helps keep discussion in our community!

Female members in co-ed groups
Any female idol or trainee affiliated with K-pop (e.g. GP999 contestants, AKB48 members who featured in Produce48)
Slash, gen, het, and trans works are all accepted as long as they involve at least one girl group member

“Tell me,” Sakura asked, after hours of dance practice. Chaewon ran a towel over her neck and tossed it on the floor. “Are you helping me because it benefits you?”

“Hm?” Chaewon turned around sharply to look at her. Sakura wasn’t a timid girl, nor was she naive enough to need placating.

“Sure, you can put in extra dance hours to make improvements to your own details. But you don’t need to do this much with me,” Sakura continued. Her eye contact seemed to be more curious than doubtful.

Chaewon considered how to respond. “It’s not because I have a crush on you,” she said in an attempt at a joke. Sakura didn’t really laugh.

“That’s okay,” Sakura said, like she was taking it at face value. “It would be troublesome for both of us if you did.”

“No... I like you. I always did,” Chaewon said, even though Sakura probably wasn’t going to believe her when she said it. Chaewon was selective enough about who she made friends with that it was just as easy to sit in the neutral category as it was to be liked, or even hated. “It would be good for us to get closer before the debut.”

“Ah, I see,” Sakura responded. Chaewon waited for her to say anything more, but Sakura picked up her mini duffel off the floor. “I’m stopping by the gym. I’ll see you back at the dorm.”

What three words would you use to describe SAKURA?

KIM CHAEWON: Calculative, surgical, loveable.

“You can’t fucking write that, Chaewon,” Yunjin said, looking at her like she was crazy. “Even as a joke. Shred it.”

“I wasn’t going to,” Chaewon retorted even though she already had, exasperated. She threw the paper she’d just crumpled up at Yunjin and it hit her in the chest.

“Girl, please!” Yunjin said in her ridiculous American accent. In the neighboring waiting room Sakura had probably scanned her mental thesaurus for the holy trinity of group leader-praise-adjectives. Chaewon understood quickly why she had picked up so quickly on the Korean language - it wasn’t just a studious, diligent nature that was conducive to learning. It also served as a tool for her to navigate and manipulate her world.

She was the perfect idol in that sense; she knew exactly what to say to get what she wanted from you, and knew exactly what shallow vulnerabilities of her own to expose in order to mask her true weaknesses. Chaewon ripped up the paper into tiny little pieces and asked her manager to print off another questionnaire.

The other problem with Sakura was that you couldn’t say a thing about her without it somehow coming back around to her anyway. And infuriatingly, you knew she wasn’t afraid of confrontation, and yet wouldn’t just say what she meant.

“I think it is leaking out,” Sakura said in a pitying voice. She was knitting on the couch with a floor lamp angled towards her hands. Chaewon had just stepped out of her room in track shorts and a tee to get a snack from the kitchen.

“What is?” She opened the fridge door, looking for spilled orange juice or kimchi.

“Sometimes you look at me without any emotion on your face,” Sakura said. Chaewon froze. It was so different to how she usually talked in front of others that it sounded almost like she was Chaewon, acting the leader, exerting her own authority and control in a teaching moment. Scary to feel it aimed back at you. Again Sakura had made an incision while her guard was down.

“I don’t hate you.”

“Yeah?” Sakura wasn’t angry.

“How could I, even if I wanted to. I need you,” she said, for her career. “Actually, I admire you a lot.”

Sakura did laugh this time. “You’re really funny.”

“Yeah, well.” Chaewon peeled a tangerine with her fingers, her nails staining with citric acid and coloring. “Maybe I should try harder to act as well as you do. For both of our sakes.”

Sakura sighed, and it sounded patient, all-knowing. “I care about you,” she said, “even if I don’t say it out loud often.”

“I just think it’s easier not to believe you when you say certain things, that’s all.”

Sakura looked up from her knitting. The hat she was working on would show up on Chaewon’s nightstand the following morning. “It’s healthy to have some skepticism,” she prescribed.

I read this, and I was like "Be more Sakura in life. Be more Sakura in this fic" which, ah, maybe you did not intend your fic to be inspirational goals but here we are!

Hahah, seriously, I love this, I love how you portray Sakura. I am next level obsessed with her whilst still shying away from this moment in her career for some reason but this is just catnip for me. AH! I really want things to be okay with her but I kind of love reading fic about her processing that things might not be.
