Prompts should be based on a visual medium that isn't text. For example, it could be a moment between the idols that you want to be expanded, it could be a scenario with other people, or a moodboard of aesthetics you'd like to match the fic.

RULES

- You are not required to have a Dreamwidth account to participate. There are no signups necessary. You may post anonymously if you want.
- There will be 3 rounds of this fest, and 1 round will be opened each week of the fest. Rounds will be left open for fills and comments, so there is no deadline for participating.
- Prompts do not have to be claimed before you write them, and they can be filled by more than one person.
- Once a round is open, you can continue submitting prompts for it until the end of the fest moderation period. (Ex: On February 17 after Round 3 opens, you’re still allowed to submit prompts to Round 1 and 2.)
- There is no minimum or maximum word count for fills. In the spirit of the fest, we encourage you to write shorter works, but any length is welcome and appreciated!
- Users are allowed to crosspost their fic on any other site, such as AO3. However, we ask that when possible, writers post the text of their fills as a reply to the prompt and include a link to an AO3 post if they choose to do so, instead of just linking to an AO3 post in their comment. This helps keep discussion in our community!
- Feel free to subscribe and join the comm to keep track of updates and view them on your reading page.

Prompts and fills have to center around K-pop girl group member(s). This includes:

All active and former girl group members
Female soloists
Female members in co-ed groups
Any female idol or trainee affiliated with K-pop (e.g. GP999 contestants, AKB48 members who featured in Produce48)
Slash, gen, het, and trans works are all accepted as long as they involve at least one girl group member

Sometimes, Jungeun dreams.

It’s become more elusive, these days, when sleep is snatched out of her schedule like smoke swirling beneath her fingertips. When Jinsoul makes jokes about how badly she twitches against her shoulder in the company van, eyes fluttering shut for the briefest of moments. Jungeun sinks into the void readily, a reprieve from flashing lights and click tracks in her ears, jolted awake too soon each time by the screech of brakes or Yerim’s hand gently shaking her shoulder. Submerged into endless black before being dragged right back out.

But sometimes, Jungeun dreams. Closes her eyes and blinks them open to golden rays on green leaves, to warm wooden floors beneath socked feet. There’s the whistle of a kettle from the room next door, an achingly familiar voice harmonizing with it in soft tones. It’s hazy, morning sun casting everything in rich ambers, a haze to remind Jungeun that none of this is real.

Then Jiwoo enters, eyes crinkled up into beautiful crescents, a halo of light atop her wine red hair, and Jungeun can do nothing but forget. This time, she has a mug cupped in her hands, offers it to Jungeun without a word. It wafts chrysanthemum into Jungeun’s nose, warm ceramic against her cold fingers. Jiwoo crosses her legs underneath her and leans into Jungeun’s side, staring out the bay window before them at the orchard below.

“Let’s stay like this forever,” she murmurs, honey voice running rivulets over Jungeun’s heart. “Isn’t this what we always wanted?”

And Jiwoo’s right, in a sense. This is the life they had whispered about for years, at bus stops and in corners of classrooms and on the sticky floor of dingy dance studios: a cottage in Jeju, a field of fruit trees to call their own, waking up to soft sheets that smelled of Jiwoo’s strawberry perfume and Jungeun’s favorite conditioner. Sometimes there’s a cat, brushing against Jungeun’s ankles, twin voices intertwined over the chords of an old SNSD song. Sometimes they’re out in the orchard, Jiwoo’s hand tugging Jungeun along by the wrist, that devastating smile split across her face. Jungeun does what she knows best, follows its bright and blinding glow. Would follow it to the ends of the earth if that’s what Jiwoo asked.

But this is a dream, Jungeun remembers, even as Jiwoo looks up at her, soft and imploring and so, so sweet. This is a dream because an ache for stages and spotlights and a crowd had brought them together and driven them apart in the same breath. The hunger in Jungeun’s chest claws a gaping hole through the delicate fabric of Dream-Jiwoo, a cold reminder of the chasm of Seoul that sits between them now. This is a dream because they wanted something else. The cottage dissolves around her, Jiwoo vanishing with it, until all that’s left is the cold tea in her hands.

Jungeun takes a sip from the mug and waits for the world to wake her up.
